ECL is performing our annual fire drills over the summer. Here are the fire drills we had been doing:

1. Simulate and recover from a loss of key staff with privileged access to the cloud.
2. Simulate and recover deleted files and folders from daily backups and yearly archives.
3. Simulate power failure and fire up backup generators, UPSes, and battery-powered laptops.
4. Simulate and recover from failed local virtual machines and fire them up on your backup server.
5. Simulate and recover from failed local virtual machines and fire them up remotely at ECL datacentres.
6. Simulate and recover from failed public cloud virtual machines and fire them up locally on-premise or ECL datacentres.
7. Simulate and recover from hacker attacks -- security breaches by internal and external actors and reporting to the authorities.
8. Simulate and recover from malware and ransomware attacks. Simulate data breaches, insurance claims, or payment of ransomware.

These are only generic and standard types of fire drills. We encourage all customers to do fire drills to account for their unique and likely business disaster scenarios.
